Our pal Julian Mills, who drew our burning eagle and indian chief for our record sleeve, and his band Lonely Punk just released a record called From The Wilderness. It´s absolutely brilliant. Check it out, stream it or buy it at Gogoyoko.com: http://www.gogoyoko.com/#/album/from_the_wilderness

Message to all members of Club FTM
Posted by Michael | Filed under Uncategorized
This was first and foremost a experiment for us. We wanted to see if we could manage our own social network and keep things tight with our fans. Ning.com that provides this service now demands money for us to let us continue. We have looked at the activity both from us and you users and we have chosen to close down our little club for now. If you have any questions direct them at dungeonmaster@firetop-mountain.com
PS: we´re only closing down Club FTM, not our home page. Don´t freak out OK
Love
Firetop Mountain
An update

Things are happening. We’ve just received a prize in contest over at demotape.no which gives two days in a recording studio. Hopefully this will speed up the prosess of us having some new songs for you to enjoy later this year. There’s more things afoot too, but we’ll keep them secret for the time being. Enjoy your summer till next time.

Recording drums for new album/EP/demo whatever
Posted by Michael | Filed under Uncategorized
We recently decided to buy ourselves an external sound card AKA audio interface to record on our own. I´ve picked up a few tricks by playing around with programs like Cubase and Ableton and we´ve always been very DIY in spirit. Our new baby is a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, capable of recording 8 track simultaneously. This weekend we recorded drums for 5 new songs.

You sure that goes there?

The Saffire Pro 40
We´re using Ableton Live 8 if you were wondering. I can´t recommend that program enough. Here´s a little video to end this blog post with a bang. See you soon.

A giant hug to all our fans for making 2009 so wonderful for us. See you next year!
First gig of 2010 confirmed
Posted by Michael | Filed under Uncategorized
Firetop Mountain is in the process of booking shows for 2010 and the first one confirmed for the new year will be just like coming home. The 10th of February we will come to Garage and with us we have a wonderful band from Finland called Getawaycab. They sound like a mix between Mew and Weezer; slightly geeky with a lot of finesse and fine details. We especially like the song So Long. Hear it on MySpace.

Interview at Write Click Cook Listen - a blog about indie music and cooking
Posted by Michael | Filed under Uncategorized
We’ve just been interviewed on a very unusual blog. The blog is about indie music (not so special) but also about cooking (not so special either, but the combination is). It’s really a stand out blog. Be sure to bookmark it.
